Orange Sky Tower beams an election reminder
Auckland's Sky Tower is lighting itself Elections Orange from tomorrow night (Sat, 1 Nov '08) through until election night, Sat 8 Nov.
"We're delighted that Sky Tower's agreed to help celebrate the election as one of the most important events in New Zealand's democratic life," says Electoral Commission chief executive Dr Helena Catt.
"We also hope it will give all who see it a gentle reminder of the need to by making up their minds and getting to a polling place on Election Day," she adds.
Simon Jamieson, General Manager Hotels Group, SKYCITY Auckland says “the Sky Tower often acts as a beacon for raising awareness of major events in the community. We’re pleased to help light up the traditional election night parties being held around the country on the night of the 8th".
