Enrolment by general electorate

These statistics show how many people in each general electorate are currently enrolled to vote.

Overseas enrolment

New Zealand citizens and permanent residents can enrol and vote from overseas.

The following table provides the number of electors in each electorate who have told us they are overseas when last updating their enrolment details. The current overseas numbers may differ.

The overseas enrolment figures will be updated quarterly.

Overseas enrolment - 29 March 2023 [XLSX, 16 KB]
Overseas enrolment - 1 January 2023 [XLSX, 18 KB]
Overseas enrolment - 1 September 2022 [XLSX, 18KB]

Māori enrolment

Voters of Māori descent can choose to be on the general roll or the Māori roll. The roll they choose decides which electorate and local council voting area they will vote in.

The following table shows the number of electors of Māori descent on the Māori roll and the general roll broken down by electorate and by age. The estimated eligible population is calculated for general electorates and includes those on the general and Māori rolls, because of the geographic overlap of general and Māori electorates.

The Māori enrolment figures will be updated quarterly.

Māori enrolment - 29 March 2023 [XLSX, 65KB]
Māori enrolment - 1 January 2023 [XLSX, 65KB]
Māori enrolment - 1 September 2022 [XLSX, 65KB]
