Name changes for two parties

Name and logo changes have been approved for the Opportunity Party and Conservative Party NZ.

On 28 January 2026, under Part 4 of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission registered a substitute party name, abbreviation, and logo for the Opportunity Party (Opportunity) previously known as The Opportunities Party (TOP).

Registered party name: Opportunity Party
Registered party abbreviation: Opportunity  
Registered logo:

On 28 January 2026, under Part 4 of the Electoral Act 1993, the Electoral Commission also registered a substitute party name and logo and removed a party abbreviation for the Conservative Party NZ, previously known as New Conservatives (NC).

The Register of Political Parties has been updated accordingly.
