Decisions on party registrations and logos
Four new parties have been added to the list of registered political parties in New Zealand.
The Electoral Commission today approved registration of Alliance Party of Aotearoa New Zealand, Free Palestine, New Zealand Loyal and Te Tai Tokerau Party under Part 4 of the Electoral Act 1993.
The Electoral Commission has also approved the registration of the logos for Alliance Party of Aotearoa New Zealand and Te Tai Tokerau Party.
The registered party names and logos are:

Free Palestine and New Zealand Loyal logos
The Electoral Commission has declined the applications by Free Palestine and New Zealand Loyal to register their logos.
Registration of a logo is needed for it to appear on ballot papers. Registration of a party logo may be refused if the logo is indecent, offensive, likely to cause confusion or mislead electors, or contains any reference to a title or honour or similar form of identification or infringes an intellectual property right.
NZ Outdoors & Freedom Party
The Electoral Commission has declined an application by NZ Outdoors & Freedom Party to change the party name to ‘Freedom’ and change the logo.
The party remains on the register of political parties under its current name NZ Outdoors & Freedom Party, and the party’s current registered logo will appear on ballot papers at the election.
