Referral to the Police
The Electoral Commission has referred an individual to the Police for providing a false statement in an application to enrol as an elector.
It is an offence under section 118 of the Electoral Act 1993 for a person to make a false statement in any application, certificate, or information supplied for the purposes of enrolment.
As this matter is now with the Police, the Electoral Commission will not be commenting further.
