Australian referendum
On 14 October 2023, Australia is holding a referendum asking whether it should change its Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
Australian voters looking for information on voting in the referendum, including in-person voting options in New Zealand, should visit the Australian Electoral Commission’s website.
Postal voting will be available for people who cannot vote in person. If you are eligible, you will be able to apply for a postal vote online here. Postal vote applications will remain open until Wednesday 11th October 2023.
