Referral to Police
The Electoral Commission has referred to the Police a matter involving the election expenses and donations of a candidate at the 2020 General Election.
The matter relates to the incorrect reporting of a candidate’s election expenses, the incorrect apportionment of expenses in a candidate and party return, and exceeding the candidate expenditure limit.
The referral was made to the Police on 18 July 2022. As this matter is now with the Police, the Electoral Commission will not be commenting further.
