Last chance to enrol for Mt Roskill by-election

Nov 30, 2016 | Media release

If you want to vote in the Mt Roskill by-election and you’re not enrolled, time is running out. That’s the message from the Electoral Commission with just a few days to go until the by-election this Saturday, 3 December.

“If you haven’t enrolled yet, you need to do it right now,” says Justine Welsh, Registrar of Electors for the Mt Roskill Electorate. “You must be enrolled by this Friday, 2 November. You cannot enrol on election day.”

It’s easy to enrol or update your enrolment details. Enrolment forms are available at all advance voting places and PostShops, and can also be completed online at www.elections.org.nz  to print and return.

“But you do need to hurry,” says Justine Welsh. “Make sure your vote counts by enrolling now.”

To be eligible to enrol in the Mt Roskill electorate you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or over; and
  • Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident who has lived in New Zealand continuously for 12 months at some time; and
  • Have been living in the Mt Roskill electorate for one month or more.

More information about enrolling to vote is available at www.elections.org.nz or by calling 0800 36 76 56.
