Referral to the Police - 29 May 2015
On 29 May 2015, the Electoral Commission referred the former party secretary of the ACT Party, Garry Mallett, to Police for failing in August and September 2014 to file returns within 10 working days of receiving two separate series of aggregated donations of more than $30,000 in a 12 month period, contrary to section 210C of the Electoral Act 1993.
Section 210C returns for these donations have now been filed by the current party secretary, details of which are available here.
As these matters are now with the Police, the Electoral Commission will not be commenting further.
