Referral to the Police - 30 October 2014
On 30 October 2014, the Electoral Commission referred Les King, Focus New Zealand candidate for Whangarei, to Police for publishing election advertising that did not include a promoter statement and was not authorised in writing by the party secretary in breach of sections 204F and 204H of the Electoral Act 1993.
As this matter is now with the Police, the Electoral Commission will not be commenting further.
