Te Tai Tokerau by-election candidates announced

The Electoral Commission has released the candidate and polling place details for the Saturday 25 June by-election in the Te Tai Tokerau electorate.

Five candidates are seeking election as the Te Tai Tokerau Member of Parliament, and 133 polling places will be open on Election Day.
 
Nominations for the by-election have closed, and the following candidates have been confirmed:

“Now that nominations have closed, the Electoral Commission will begin printing and distributing ballot papers, to be ready for the start of advance voting on Wednesday 8 June,” says Robert Peden, Chief Electoral Officer.

“Te Tai Tokerau voters who will be outside their electorate on Saturday 25 June should vote in advance, because polling places will only be available inside the electorate on Election Day,” says Mr Peden.
 
Advance voting will be available from Wednesday 8 June in the Te Tai Tokerau electorate.
 

“Advance voting is also available at the offices of any Registrar of Electors outside the electorate, or at the Electoral Commission, Whitmore Street, Wellington,” says Mr Peden. Full information on advance voting is available on our website.
