Cancellation of political party and registration of substitute logo
At its meeting on 20 May 2011 the Electoral Commission considered the following applications made under Part 4 of the Electoral Act 1993:
Cancellation, at its request, of the following political party:
Party: Workers Party of New Zealand
The Electoral Commission resolved to cancel the registration of the Workers Party of New Zealand in accordance with section 70 of the Electoral Act 1993. The register will be updated accordingly.
Registration of a substitute logo for the Labour Party as shown below:
The Electoral Commission resolved to register the party’s substitute logo in accordance with section 69A of the Electoral Act 1993. The register will be updated accordingly.
