Applications to register political party logos

The Electoral Commission is considering the following applications made under Part 4 of the Electoral Act 1993 to register a political party logo.

 

New Zealand Sovereignty Party has applied to register the following logo:
 
 
Applicant:  Tony Corbett, Party Secretary, New Zealand Sovereignty Party
 
Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party has applied to register the following substitute logo:

Applicant:  Irinka Britnell, Party Secretary, Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party
 
Registration of a logo is needed for it to appear on a ballot paper.  Registration may be refused if the logo is indecent, offensive, misleading, confusing, refers to a title or an honour, infringes an intellectual property right or breaches any law, or an application is made incorrectly.
