Applications to register political party logo

The Electoral Commission is considering the following applications made under Part 4 of the Electoral Act 1993 to register a political party logo:

Applicant:  Raewyn Harrison, Party Secretary, Mana

Party:  NZ Tea Party
Applicant:  Peter Bird, Party Secretary, NZ Tea Party

Applicant:  Leanne Martinovich, Party Secretary, OURNZ

Party:  The Pirate Party of New Zealand
Applicant:  Shenglin Zeng , Party Secretary, The Pirate Party of New Zealand

Registration of a logo is needed for it to appear on a ballot paper.  Registration may be refused if the logo is indecent, offensive, misleading, confusing, refers to a title or an honour, infringes an intellectual property right or breaches any law, or an application is made incorrectly.
