No change to requirement for elections expense returns for 2008 election
The Electoral Commission has sent the following message to parties and third parties. You may have heard in the news today that the Electoral Amendment Bill has been introduced to parliament.
This Bill does not make any changes to the requirements for the party election expense return due on 2nd March and the party donation return due on 30 April 2009. There are also no changes to the requirements to make a return within 10 working days of receiving a donation over $20,000. The ‘donations protected from disclosure’ regime also remains.
This Bill does not make any changes to the requirements for a listed third party election expense return and donation return due on 10th March.
