Parties wanting to register to contest the party vote in the 2008 general election have until 5pm Mon, 15 Sep to get their completed registration applications and evidence of membership to the Electoral Commission in order to be sure that the necessary checking, advertising, and processing of an uncontested application to register the party can be approved before Writ Day, Wed, 8 Oct.
Registered and unregistered parties wanting to register logos to appear on ballot papers have until 5pm Tue, 16 Sep to get their completed registration applications to the Electoral Commission in order to be sure that the necessary checking, advertising, and processing of an uncontested application to register the logo can be approved before Writ Day.
Third parties advocating how voters should vote and wanting to list as third parties because they will be spending more than $1,000 in respect of electorate candidate or $12,000 in respect of any party have until Fri, 10 Oct to apply in order to be sure the necessary checking, notification and processing of an uncontested application to list the third party can be achieved before the deadline of Fri, 17 Oct.
