Candidate nominations for the Tāmaki Makaurau by-election close at noon on Tuesday 5 August 2025.
From Tuesday 15 July you can lodge your candidate nomination by email to nominations@elections.govt.nz.
To be a candidate for the by-election you must be:
- a New Zealand citizen
- enrolled to vote
- nominated by two registered electors who are enrolled in the Tāmaki Makaurau electorate
- pay a deposit of $300.
