Before you apply

The Community Education Fund application consists of four main documents 

  1. Organisational information
  2. Eligibility Questionnaire
  3. Application questions
  4. Project plan, budget, and risk register (using the provided templates) 

These documents will be available on 7 April 2026.

You must complete all these documents to complete your application.  Please download the application documents, fill them out, and email them to cef@elections.govt.nz.   

The entire application is due by midnight, 11 May 2026.  

Before you start your application to the Community Education Fund, please:  

  • Read through the application questions

  • Complete the Eligibility Questionnaire

If you are eligible to apply to the Community Education Fund based on your answers to the Eligibility Questionnaire, please gather the following additional information to include with your application documents 

  • Information about your organisation 

  • Contact information, Charities/NZBN numbers, etc. 

  • Quotes for any capital expenses (tablets, event equipment, etc) that cost over $100 

  • Proof of your organisation’s bank account This can be a picture or a screenshot and should include the bank’s logo, the account number, and the name of your organisation 

  • A budget for your project; please see the template

  • A project plan for your project including project milestones; please see the template

  • A risk register for your project; please see the template
