1996–2005 general elections Voter and non-voter satisfaction surveys 2002 and 2005

Download our surveys of voters and non-voters in the 2002 and 2005 general elections.

We surveyed voters and non-voters, and a sample of voters and non-voters with a disability.

The surveys aimed to find out about voting experiences

The survey aims to:

  • measure how satisfied voters are with our services
  • understand how engaged people are with the voting process and what’s stopping them from voting.

The survey highlights groups of interest

The survey highlights results for groups that are less likely to enrol and vote.

These groups are people who identify themselves mainly as:

  • Māori
  • Pasifika
  • Asian
  • aged 18 to 29 years old
  • non-voters.
