Our use of te reo Māori

We provide information on enrolling, voting and elections in accessible te reo Māori that is clear and widely understood across Aotearoa.

We also use regional mita for information intended for particular communities or rohe. These may include Te Āti Awa, including the glottal stop (where an apostrophe replaces “h”), Ngāpuhi, Waikato–Tainui, Ngāti Porou, Te Arawa, and Kāi Tahu/Ngāi Tahu to reflect the mita in the seven Māori electorates.

All translations are completed and quality assured by suitably qualified translators and reviewers before publication.
