Last chance to vote in the Tāmaki Makaurau by-election
There will be 84 voting places open from 9am to 7pm on Saturday 6 September for the last day of voting in the Tāmaki Makaurau by-election.
Electoral Commission Deputy Chief Executive Operations, Anusha Guler says it’s not too late for those who are eligible to enrol and vote and have their say.
“People in the Tāmaki Makaurau Māori electorate have until 7pm on Saturday to vote on who will represent them in Parliament.”
As of Thursday, 4,932 ordinary votes had been cast in the by-election. That doesn’t include special or overseas votes.
Voting locations are included in the EasyVote packs sent to everyone enrolled by 30 July, along with an EasyVote card, list of the candidates and a brochure on how to vote.
More information on enrolling and voting, including voting place locations, is available online at vote.nz or by calling freephone 0800 36 76 56.
From the beginning of voting on August 25, to the closing of voting at 7pm on Saturday 6 September, a total of 115 voting place locations offering more than 2500 voting hours have been open during the voting period.
