Party financial statements published

Jul 5, 2024 | News

Registered political parties have started filing annual financial statements with the Electoral Commission for publication.

This is a new requirement for parties due to a recent law change (the Electoral Amendment Act 2022).

The first annual financial statements were due on 30 June 2024 and have been published on elections.nz.

Annual financial statements

Not all financial statements were due on 30 June. The due date for each party depends on whether the party is an incorporated or unincorporated society and what is required by the party’s constitution, as well as when their financial year ends.

More information on when financial statements are due for each registered party and whether they need to include an audit report is available on elections.nz.
