Dual vote referrals for 2023 General Election
The Electoral Commission has referred 55 individuals to the Police who appear to have voted more than once at the 2023 General Election.
Dual voting is an offence under section 215 of the Electoral Act 1993.
The number of referrals is similar to previous elections. There were 48 referrals for dual voting after the 2020 General Election, 37 referrals after the 2017 General Election, 126 after the 2014 General Election and 63 after the 2011 General Election.
As these matters are now with the Police, the Electoral Commission will not be commenting further.
