Voting in Northland made easy
Those in the Northland electorate should check their letterboxes this week, as EasyVote packs go out to over 44,000 enrolled voters.
“EasyVote packs make it easy to vote in the 28 March by-election,” says Robert Peden, Chief Electoral Officer. “They contain your personalised EasyVote card, a list of the candidates you can choose from, and a list of times and places you can vote, either on election day or in advance. Everyone who was correctly enrolled before Monday 23 February should receive their EasyVote packs this week.”
“Bring your EasyVote card with you when you vote. It makes voting faster and easier,” says Mr Peden. “You can still vote without it, but it may take a little longer.”
Those who do not receive an EasyVote pack may not be enrolled, and need to enrol now.
“You can check if you are on the roll at www.elections.org.nz or by visiting any advance voting place. The last day for enrolments is Friday 27 March. You cannot enrol on election day,” says Mr Peden.
Enrolling or updating your details is easy. To get an enrolment pack, go online at www.elections.org.nz, freetext your name and address to 3676, call 0800 36 76 56, or visit any PostShop. Enrolment forms will also be available at all advance voting places.
