Voting made easy in Mt Albert by-election
More than 43,000 Aucklanders are about to have their voting experience in the Mt Albert by-election made a lot easier with the delivery of personalised EasyVote cards and EasyVote information packs across the electorate.
“Anyone voting from now on, or on election day Saturday 13 June, will have a much easier experience if they take their EasyVote card with them,” says Robert Peden, Chief Electoral Officer.
The EasyVote Pack contains the EasyVote card, a list of who is standing, where the polling places and advance voting places are and when they are open.
“The EasyVote information pack provides the key information to make it easy for people to go and vote.”
Each EasyVote card is individualised to the voter. It has their name and where they are on the electoral roll.
“All people need to do when they go to vote is hand over their EasyVote card and they will get their voting paper issued to them quickly and efficiently,” says Mr Peden,
People can still vote without their EasyVote card, but it may take longer.
“The 43,117 EasyVote packs are being delivered now. Everyone enrolled in time should have received their EasyVote packs in the mail by Friday,” says Mr Peden.
Anyone who doesn’t get an EasyVote pack either isn’t enrolled or isn’t enrolled at their correct address.
“Time is running out to enrol to vote. Enrol now. You cannot enrol on election day,” says Mr Peden.
