23 October 2024 The Government Statistician released the number of electorates and electoral population figures
10 February 2025 Representation Commission met to set proposed boundaries
25 March 2025 Proposed boundaries released for public comment
25 March to 27 April 2025 Public could make objections on proposed boundaries
8 to 21 May 2025 Public could make counter-objections on any objections received
9 to 18 June 2025 Public hearings on proposed electorate names and boundaries:
- Monday 9 June - Auckland
- Tuesday 10 June - Auckland
- Wednesday 11 June - Palmerston North
- Thursday 12 June - Christchurch
- Monday 16 June - Wellington
8 August 2025 Final electorate boundaries released
2026 General Election New electorate boundaries apply
