If you’re a publisher or broadcaster, you have some responsibilities when it comes to election and referendum advertisements. This section explains what you, political parties, candidates, and third parties can and can’t do when campaigning in the 2020 General Election and Referendums.
COVID-19 and the 2020 General Election
This year’s election will be different because of COVID-19. A range of measures will be in place to help keep people safe while they vote in the 2020 General Election and Referendums. Voting will start earlier and there will be more voting places to spread voting over a longer period and reduce congestion in voting places. There will be health measures in place at voting places to help keep voters and election workers safe. More postal voting capacity will be available for people who are unable to go to a voting place.
