About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi 

This is a fantastic opportunity to help lead the operations group at the Electoral Commission and collaborate directly with the Operations Deputy Chief Executive through leading projects, providing strategic advice and thought leadership.

What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana

You will be working within the Operations group which incorporates the Electoral Commission's front-office functions, which are accountable for the delivery of initiatives to enable the public information, education, enrolment, and vote processes for the Electoral Commission. These functions are highly operationally aligned, so they are grouped together to drive collaboration, alignment, and integrated delivery of key outcomes.

Key responsibilities | Ko tāu e whakarato ai

  • Provide Strategic advice and guidance to the rest of the organsiation relating to the operations group.
  • Manage and coordinate using, high quality, evaluative thinking and evidence informed analysis and strategic advice
    • The development, execution, and delivery of operations group strategy.
    • The annual business planning process and its linkage to financial forecasting, management, and reporting
    • Coordinate and prepare budget bis, as required.
    • Performance and monitoring frameworks
    • Key policy advice on projects and papers
    • Support the management of cross-agency governance arrangements and relationship management.

What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū

  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior advisory role.
  • Significant experience providing advice on complex matters to leadership teams and/ or Ministers.
  • An awareness of economic, social, and governmental influences, the political environment and other agencies and groups likely to impact on the Commission.
  • Experience in strategy formulation and/or outcome development, performance measurement, planning and reporting.
  • Experience in relationship management, demonstrated by establishment and maintenance of a range of effective networks across and within organisations.
